Paros is a Greek island that is surrounded by the Aegean Sea. Paros Beaches are famous for having natural landscapes and being close to traditional villages. Beaches in Paros have unique rock formations, coves that are interesting to swim in, and are windy enough for activities like surfing and paragliding.

Parikia is the capital city of Paros, and any beaches are situated close by so you can explore the old town and visit ancient Churches. It is also easy to travel to Athens from Paros if you are looking to explore the capital of Greece too.

The Most Popular Beach On Paros

Santa Maria Beach 

You will find Santa Maria Beach near Naoussa on the northeast coast of Paros. It is a pretty well-facilitated beach but you can take your towels with you. Although it is popular and frequently visited, there is sufficient space for big groups.

For young adults, there is a beach bar serving drinks and food all day. If you are adventurous, you can go snorkeling in the clear water. Since it is in a prime location there are multiple taverns nearby, as well as other Paros beaches like Lageri Beach.

White Dunes Luxury Suites are located one minute away from the beach on foot and have rooms with panoramic sea views, private pools, and en-suite bathrooms.

The Best Beaches on Paros Near Piso Livadi

Piso Livadi Beach 

Piso Livadi Beach in a small fishing village called Piso Livadi, making it one of the most south-eastern of the Paros beaches. The waters are calm and warm therefore perfect for children, but the locality is perfect for couples because of the rustic nearby taverns.

The beach itself does not have many rental facilities, so you must bring towels and parasols. However, if you dine at the surrounding restaurants there are proper seating and shades available.

Logaras Beach

Logaras Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Paros. It is less than a kilometer away from Piso Livadi Beach and so you can actually walk from there. This is a great choice if you are staying in the area for a couple of days and have the opportunity to explore multiple Paros beaches.

It is a family-friendly beach with golden sand and emerald waters, all the typical natural features of beaches in Paros. There are cafes and restaurants nearby such as the Mango Restaurant with traditional Mediterranean cuisines. The amenities are certainly a convenience if you want to stay a whole day at the beach.

Pounda Beach

Pounda Beach is popular amongst young travelers and friend groups. It is considered a beach club, playing loud music and serving alcoholic drinks. Therefore, it is usually lively and chaotic.

If you prefer a dynamic atmosphere this is the best Paros Beach to listen to music and socialize. Nonetheless, the features of the beach itself are also appealing in its own right. The waters are shallow and calm, great for swimming in, and the beach is close to other Piso Livadi beaches.

Golden Beach

Golden Beach is a long and wide beach with white sand and shallow waters. There are plenty of amenities available such as sunbeds or parasols for rent, and taverns like the Blue Restaurant Bar which are directly on the beach. Like many beaches in Paros, it is close to other beaches and landmarks, such as Lefkes, a historical mountainous village.

New Golden Beach

New Golden Beach is next to Golden Beach. It is a family-friendly beach with the characteristic golden sand of Paros beaches which children adore. The windy wildlife-rich waters are ideal for surfing and scuba diving, and there is a beach sports center where you can explore other similar activities.

It is an organized beach with available sunbeds and parasols but is quieter than Golden Beach and usually less crowded if you prefer a more peaceful atmosphere.

Drios Beach

Drios Beach is found on the east of Paros and is a relatively large beach. Unlike other Paros beaches, there are pebbles as well as sand, which children of all ages enjoy and therefore the whole family can relax.

There are also trees surrounding the beach providing shade if you are more sensitive to the warm sun, especially in the summer months when the climate is increasingly hotter.

Where To Stay In Piso Livadi

Londos Hotel in Piso Livadi is only 150m from Logoras Beach and has many rooms available of all sizes. If you would rather be closer to Piso Livadi Beach, the Aloni Hotel is only 100m away and also has a range of rooms such as family rooms or double rooms. Golden Beach Hotel is also a great choice, located just over 10 minutes away from the beach and also offering bike hires and water sports facilities.

The Best Beaches On Paros Near Parikia

Parasporos Beach

Parasporos Beach is a short walk from Parikia town, around 2km away. It is one of the more peaceful beaches in Paros as it is less busy and usually not as crowded. The water is cold and refreshing, and the sunset at the end of the day is a beautiful moment you can share with family or friends.

In addition, there are historical sites nearby such as the Panagia Ekatondapiliani Church. It is popularly known as the Church with one hundred doors, although ironically it does not have this many.

Marchello Beach

Marchello Beach is found in Parikia Bay. Many rocky coves protect the area from the winds, but this is also one of the only nudist beaches in Paros. There is a tavern and other amenities nearby so it is great for staying at the entire day. In the evening, you can walk to Parikia town, or visit the cathedrals. Other Paros beaches nearby include Parasporos Beach and Krios Beach.

Delfini Beach

Delfini Beach, otherwise known as Souvlia Beach, is located in the south of Parikia. It is a small sandy beach with a scattering of pebbles. This is an ideal choice amongst the other Paros beaches if you value space as it is usually uncrowded. There are seafood restaurants and bars nearby, many hotels, and historical sites. Delfini Beach is calm and secluded.

Where To Stay In Parikia

Paros Bay is beachfront and so directly next to the beach, perfect if you do not wish to walk far. There are rooms of all sizes available whether you are traveling alone or in a large group. If you are searching for accommodation near Delfini Beach, there are not many hotels nearby. However, there are beach houses such as Port View House 600m away, or Nesaea which is only 100m.

Livadia Beach

Livadia Beach is another one of the most popular beaches on Paros. It is near the port and thus easily accessible. Furthermore, it is close to many taverns for lunch and dinner with your couple, friends, or family.

The beach is great for swimming in because it is warm and comforting, and you can watch the sky change colors as you dive in or simply rest on the sunbeds.

Monastiri Beach

Monastiri Beach is a large sheltered beach with large crowds and many attractions. The waters are calm due to the protection by the trees, so children can safely swim in the shallow waters without the need to worry.

There are no boats except for occasional rafters and water sports, so swimming is easy and fun. Additionally, the beach is styled in a modern way and has a beach bar with friendly service.  

Where To Stay In Livadia

Helliniko Hotel is 70m from Livadia Beach and has double, triple, or quadruple rooms for selection. Hotel Aegeon is also close by, close to the airport and beach.

The Best Beaches On Paros Near Naousa

Agii Anargyri Beach

Agii Anargyri Beach is on the smaller side relative to the other Paros beaches. However, this quaint sandy beach is great for families and even solo trips because it is within close walking distance of Naousa center.

The waters are clear and warm, perfecting for swimming. Nonetheless, there are sunbeds and parasols available if you prefer to relax by laying around instead. There are fewer taverns than on the popular beaches in Paros, but there are still some very close by.

Piperaki Beach

Piperaki Beach is another one of the north-facing Paros beaches. This makes it windier and thus has the optimal conditions for beach and water sports such as kitesurfing. The beach is mostly sandy and so you can also play volleyball or bring your children to make sandcastles, but there are rocks too for diving off of and scuba diving. It is child-friendly yet also has facilities for adults of all ages, so there is something to do for everyone.

Piperi Beach

Piperi Beach is one of the most well-known Paros beaches in Naousa. Like Piperaki Beach it is windy and ideal for beach sports but is not the best option for children to swim in without an adult present. Instead, they can play on the wide stretch of golden sand.

Furthermore, the beach is close to the center of Naousa, so there are many activities to keep you entertained if you are staying for a while such as visiting the port, wineries, and aqua parks.

Kolymbithres Beach

Kolymbithres Beach is a sandy beach that can be reached by car, walking, water taxi, or even by bike. It is close to the Naousa port. Because it is one of the most well-known and established Paros beaches.

It is often busy, yet still spacious. This beach is ideal if you are looking for the outgoing atmosphere of a sociable beach. If you are visiting with children, there is an aquapark less than a kilometer away, where teenagers and even adults can enjoy a fun day out.

Agios Nikolaos Beach

Agios Nikolaos Beach is a raw sandy beach in Paros that is serene and quiet. It is more peaceful than other options in Naousa if you are searching for an empty and calm beach where you can spend all day relaxing.

Similar to some Paros beaches, the area is surrounded by trees and offers picturesque views of the greenery in Paros. There are also a couple of restaurants nearby, as well as historic attractions such as the Agios Nikolaos Church.

Where To Stay In Naousa

Hotel Senia is beachfront and only 200m from Noussa town; it is a luxe option with family rooms and deluxe suites.

A cheaper alternative is Madaky Hotel, close to Piperi Beach, with single to quadruple rooms.

Close to Kolymbithres Beach is Kymo Luxury Suites, which are perfect if you are traveling with family.

For couples, Bohemian Luxury Boutique Hotel is a great adults-only alternative in the center of Naousa.

The Best Beaches On Paros Near Aliki

Aliki Beach

Aliki Beach is on the south of Paros. It is a romantic sandy beach with charming features such as Aliki Restaurant and other seafood taverns. One of the main selling points is that it is within walking distance of other Paros beaches where you can take a dreamy stroll while exploring the area.

It is also child-friendly because the waters are shallow. There are also pebbles for kids to play with and places to dine at. Aliki Beach can be crowded in the summer months, but if you want to go at a more peaceful time, consider visiting during off-peak seasons.

Piso Aliki Beach 

Piso Aliki Beach is on the end of Aliki Beach. If you are looking for a quieter option, this is one of the best beaches in Paros as it is less crowded and well-known. That said, the beach is just as beautiful, with clear waters ideal for diving and snorkeling, nearby to restaurants and other beaches. Additionally, the beach is sheltered so it is less windy.

Faragas Beach

Faragas Beach is 2km away from Aliki Beach and less than 1km from Petri Beach. The beach is in a great location and has a beach bar, as well as being next to taverns such as Thalassamou restaurant. It is mainly sandy, but there are rocks on either end made for diving or protecting yourself from the sun’s rays and wind. However, it is a relatively small beach and can get crowded.

Where To Stay In Aliki

Parosland Hotel in Aliki village has standard, double, family, and connecting rooms. It is child-friendly and close to the airport and port. Aphrodite Boutique Hotel is close to all three beaches and has affordable rooms. Lastly, Angeliki Seaside Hotel is another good option, with modern rooms and spectacular views.  

Transport from Athens To Paros

If you are traveling to Paros, it is worth considering visiting Athens too. On the other hand, if you have already checked out the top things to do in Athens, you should consider taking a day to visit the beautiful beaches of Paros.

Athens To Paros Ferry

The ferry from Athens to Paros can take as little as three hours and makes the perfect day trip if you have time on your hands and want to explore Greece.

Usually, the Athens Paros ferry leaves from Piraeus, where there are three different main companies and so a variety to choose from, and arrives at a port of Paros or Pounta. The main company is Blue Star Ferries. Here, you can take cars and pets.

Going from Athens to Paros, or vice versa is an invaluable experience. Whilst Paros Beaches are natural and unspoiled, Athens has just as many adventures waiting. Especially in Piraeus, there are archaeological museums, cultural centers, a harbor, and lively nightlife.
